Cradle to Cradle Material Health: insulbar certified

People spend the majority – 90% – of their time inside buildings. It is therefore important to Ensinger to use insulbar materials for its building products, which are demonstrably harmless to humans and the environment. Representative of two products from our profile program, a Cradle to Cradle Material Health certificate now documents the inherent harmlessness of the raw materials used in our insulbar insulating profiles: the insulbar ESP variant with its especially electrostatic properties and the universal profile insulbar REG were awarded Gold status.
insulbar was awarded the Cradle to Cradle Material Health certificate for its sustainability.

"All of the materials that are used in the product and their chemical components are scientifically evaluated in detail in the audit, every two years," explains Dr. Michael Möller, Innovations Manager at Ensinger. "Successful certification in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle Material Health process documents our commitment to innovation, transparency and sustainability – and that of our customers who upgrade their windows, doors and façades with insulbar."

What is the basis of the Cradle to Cradle principle? The value creation chain is considered from the raw material to the product’s destination. The materials used remain in the cycle of potentially recyclable resources and are always reused. The right materials are used at the right time in the right location. Nature acts as the model here: consumption: yes; waste: no.

The Cradle to Cradle Material Health certificate awards extra points when buildings are certified, for example in accordance with LEED. It also lays important foundations if you want to achieve Cradle to Cradle certification with your own systems.
